Recycle Signs is a division of Characters Signs Ltd, an established general sign firm based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
Characters Signs have been working with local authorities for many years supplying a variety of signage and services.
In 2003 Characters Signs won the tender to supply the Household Waste Recycling Centre signage for Hertfordshire County Council. From the Council’s brief, twenty sites were revamped with new signage schemes, ranging from bin stickers to information point signs.
When the government launched the Recycle Now Campaign to standardise recycling signage we decided it would be a good idea to manufacture the new range of signs in a variety of formats and materials, and offer a range of accessories that have been developed over the years with our experience in the industry.
Through the brochure and website we wanted to offer a “one-stop-shop” for all your Recycling Signage needs, from standard signs available on a next day service to comprehensive signage schemes for brand new Recycling Centres.
We have worked closely together with a number of local authorities and WRAP to produce schemes, which are in keeping with the Recycle Now campaigns guidelines. We have designed new iconography for recycling items not on the original list, these have been submitted to WRAP and been approved for use.
