Case study:
Warwickshire’s Waste Success
Warwickshire is the most improved local authority area in Britain when it comes to tackling waste. The government figures
are so good that in some areas Warwickshire is hitting targets now that the government had set for 2020 - a decade early.
In an effort to provide visitors to their recycling sites with a means to inform and comment on the facility and service
Warwickshire County Council invested in bespoke Information Points at all of their sites.
Recycle Signs were tasked to design, manufacture and install the Information Points.
Working closely with Warwickshire County Council, Recycle signs were supplied a brief to design a covered display
that would incorporate details of site specific recyclables, posters, leaflets and a customer comments box. Displays
would be situated on site open to the elements.
Recycle Signs designed the shelter structure comprising of stainless steel and vandal resistant polycarbonate panels.
Weather resistant poster frames and leaflet holders were utilised to display the council’s recycling information.

Flagship Recycling Centre for Bedfordshire
Residents of Central Bedfordshire are now recycling 47% of household waste: a huge increase since 2000/01, when the
county figure was only 5%.

with the council and the main contractor, Weldon Construction at the “drawing board” stage. Signage was manufactured
in accordance with the council’s branding identity and WRAP’s (Waste & Resources Action Programme) guidelines for
recycling materials.

The Environmentally Friendly Games
With the forth coming Olympic Games Coca-Cola sponsored the recycling / waste bins in selected areas
around Westminster to help push the recycling message and raise awareness of the Olympic games.
Recycle Signs were approached by leading bin manufacture Amberol, with the task of producing the various
decals and polycarbonate plates for the bins that would need to last for a period of 3 years.
Working alongside Coca-Cola and the City of Westminster Council, Recycle Signs were responsible for the
research into testing and sourcing suitable adhesives and materials that would suit the texture and construction
material of the bins. After testing a number of adhesives, surface preparation and refining the decal profiles to suit the
shape of the bins, the end product was one that was easily applied and met the needs of this demanding
application.
Amberol are market leaders in rotational moulding and pride themselves on World Class products for a Cleaner,
Greener Environment, to find out more about their products have a look at www.amberol.co.uk.
