CASE STUDY: FLAGSHIP RECYCLING CENTRE FOR BEDFORDSHIRE
Residents of Central Bedfordshire are now recycling 47% of household waste: a huge increase since 2000/01, when the county figure was only 5%.
The newly redeveloped Barkers Lane site is Bedfordshire’s largest Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC), offering the public the facility to recycle a wide range of materials. Due to the site’s success it has become the county’s flagship recycling centre, generating interest from other councils.
Recycle Signs were selected to design, manufacture and install a wide range of signage for the site. Working closely with the council and the main contractor, Weldon Construction at the “drawing board” stage. Signage was manufactured in accordance with the council’s branding identity and WRAP’s (Waste & Resources Action Programme) guidelines for recycling materials.
"The quality of signage provided for the HWRC were fantastic and exactly to specification. Turn around time for design and realisation was all in place for site opening deadline and Recycle Signs were more than happy to work with the site operator to ensure the best design was provided for site specific problems that needed a solution to ensure compliance with health and safety."
